The  Oceans and Seas cover 80 per cent of the planet

 
 
GOAL 
 

As global policymakers have agreed to a new a set of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to replace the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), the Oceans Community is calling for the adoption of a standalone Oceans Goal.

An Oceans Goal would ensure the economic, social and political empowerment of the oceasns and ensure all aspects of national development, see the sea or ocean as active participants, champions and custodians of human welfare.

STATISTICS 
  • Over 200.000 fisher folk make a living from the Caribbean Sea 
  • Over 35 nations and territories share the Cariibbean Sea 
  • Over 1,000,000 people cruise on the Caribbean Sea

ABOUT THE FILM FESTIVAL 

The Caribbean SeaFan Film Festival is founded to tell stories through lectures, interviews, films and videos, poetry and music about the important environmental, economic, cultural and social role that the Caribbean Sea plays in the life of the Caribbean peoples. 

Organized in honor of World Oceans Day, the vision is to bring together the fans of the Caribbean Sea, across diverse communities to share stories and create common bonds.
